Palo Stickland

I began in 2005 with the idea that I would write the story of my parents since their youngest grandson was only a year old and would not know them as the people they were. I asked them questions about their past which were both enlightening for me but at times upsetting for them. I published the book in 2013 with my grandmother’s name in the title. I called it Finding Takri as I realised that my grandmother’s story, including the struggle for Indian Independence, was the one which I should write. Since then, I have self-published my novella Alana and my collection, Playing on the Mountain: Ten Years of Writing.
